Established 14 years ago, A New Author Film Festival in Belgrade had the intention to familiarize Belgrade with the world cinematography. Regarding that one of the honored guest of festival was Icelander Solveig Anspach, a writer with a natural gift for observational comedy. Her “Skrapp ut” or “Back Soon” is a quiet loopy comedy about Icelandic poet and her equally interesting and simple joy friends with the habit to smoke pot shows the magical moments of ordinary living and simple life. This year's Locarno Festival also gave her the Variety Piazza Grande Award for the best combination of artistic and commercial in “Back Soon”. Coming from mixed background of American father and Icelandic mother, Anspach now is based in France and brings an even more to her native island's eccentricities.
In “Back Soon” Anna exists in a world of her own “don't-give-a-shit” person from the Icelandic landscape and mythology. Internationally published poet Anna Hallgrimsdottir is fed up with living in Reykjavik, so called "the Alcatraz of the North” to say”I don't know what the Vikings did to deserve this place."
