Do we give a sh*t about Vegas and its film festival? If you're Hollywood, you kind of look at it like an artifact on the artifact. A facsimile hatched together for the Sunset Boulevard
devotee/autograph-seeking/souvenir-collecting fan-based crowd.
Which is to say that in 110 F degree heat, stuck in Hooter's with a bunch of paunchy middle aged doofs looking for p-u-s-s-y, there are many other things one of the film persuasion might consider doing... laundry, for exampl...

I am now working for a Production and repping company in Dubai, we shall see how it goes, and Toby is working on a TV show so been busy with getting things together. As well as, of course, concentrating on our own work but at the momenth that involves making DVDs, covers and sending them off to various parts of the world. You might think that it wouldn't take up too mu...
Another trophy guest of the L.A. fest was 84 year old Roger Corman, producer, director, writer, actor, promoter, distributor, and living legend of B-and-Below kitsch/trash movies -- as part of the "Conversations with Hollywood Celebrities" sidebar, which has been one of the highlights of the current L.A. Int'l Film Festival. To start with, let us say that Roger does not look a day over seventy-four, and was greeted upon arrival on stage by a most respectful whole-room-standing-up ovation which h...

The making of/night of the short film L'amour de Montparnasse! (part 1 of 2)Waiting out side the gates the public left and we moved in. It took an hour of setting up make-up, wardrobe, craft service and the first shot. Due to the necessity of me having to multi-task I was running around like a headless chicken with no one to help in the behind the scenes as they were all setting up the jib arm and dolly. Thankfully Chantelle who was the Travel Town representative was great and couldn't hav...
by Alex Deleon The Los Angeles film festival calendar is so crowded that three of them have currently been running in overlapping juxtaposition. The LA Indian film festival and the LA Polish film festival both started on the same day, April 20, but the Indian one only lasted six days leaving another six days to catch up with the second half of the Polish action. There is also an Asian festival going on simultaneously in Koreatown, but since it is physically impossible to be everywhere at once, ...
The Korean Film Festival in Los Angeles (KOFFLA), which will begin from March 4 to 7 at venues across Los Angeles, held its first official press conference on Monday, February 22 at the Korean Cultural Center. Canadian director Dan Clements whose recent submission to ÉCU 2010's Non-European Dramatic Short film category is entitled ”Patient” talks to us about blind dates, false teeth and his motivations as a filmmaker.
By Mairi Cunningham
Q: First off, the ambiguous and unsettling opening was amazing. First time round, I was fooled into thinking it was going to be a very awkward blind date that was about to be acted out, not a hostage negotiation! T...

Urban Nomad Film Fest is the oldest and best known underground film festival in Taiwan. It was founded in Taipei in 2002, and the ongoing project is to create a
community-oriented film environment and put an end to the impersonal
‘black box’ movie theater environment where hundreds of people can
watch films without really interacting with each other. We tend to hold festival screenings and events in warehouses, outdoor spaces and converted spaces, rather than traditional film theaters. Peripheral events include concerts, parties, discussion seminars and directors talks.
Urban Nomad's festival content is socially
motivated, growing with and out of digital and grassroots film
movements: underground, alternative, digital, arthouse, DVcam, Flash,
and web-based films. Our program is evenly split between Taiwanese indie shorts (open submission) and international, independent documentaries and features (feel free to contact us).

In addition, we'll showcase a vintage crop of new works by established master...
We speak to the director of Bunny and the Bull.
Fans of The Mighty Boosh rejoiced at the news that series director Paul King was turning his gaze to the big screen. Featuring predictably great comic turns from Noel Fielding, Julian Barratt and Richard Ayoade, Bunny and the Bull is sure to please the legions of Boosh obsessives out there. But King is by no means playing it safe in his transition to feature directing, as he explained when we met this week.
Did you always imagine ...

Well, what can you say when you've got George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey in one film. Add to that a comedy based on life being stranger than fiction. The movie is inspired by UK journalist, Jon Ronsons non-fiction best seller, exploring the bizarre activities of a secret, elite division of the US military trained in psychic powers and psychological warfare' techniques. It is a roller coaster ride through a quirky, crazy, absurd, nostalgic adventure that amuse...

Based on Gandhi's quote "An eye for an eye will quickly leave the whole World blind" The film highlights the futility of the war on terror by taking a glimpse into a timeline of events that have unfolded since the 9/11 terrorist attacks in NewYork City and, explores the conflict between the West and Islam from a satirical point of view.
