PARISCIENCE is a film festival which crosses science with cinema to shed light on the evolution of the various scientific disciplines and their impact on society.
Each year, the festival showcases the very best of French and international science-themed films. Many of the films had never been shown on French television.
The festival runs for 6 days in early October and is held at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. It is organised by the Association Science & Télévision (AST), a collective of independent production companies working to promote science on television and developing relationships between the audiovisual sector and the scientific world (www.science-television.com).

AFO currently ranks among top European festivals focusing on science documentaries. Its major goal is to present topical information from all spheres of knowledge, and thus promote science in general public, young audiences, and film and television professionals. Its unique focus combines competition screenings of new Czech and world science documentaries, with lectures and presentations of scientists, creating a unique atmosphere, where filmmakers meet with scholars and enthusiastic audiences. Academia Film Olomouc is the oldest festival in Central Europe devoted to a consistent mapping of science documentary film and TV production. It was founded in 1966 as a joint initiative of Short Film Prague, Palacky University in Olomouc and the Czechoslovak Academy of Science. Among the festival guests in recent years were Richard Saunders, Sonya Pemberton, Lawrence M. Krauss, Robert Winston, Martha Holmes, Jeff Lieberman, Jennifer Gardy, Derek Muller, Andrew Holtz, Nigel Marven, Christine LeGoff, Robert Rosenstone, Timothy Boon, Albert Barillé, Alison Griffiths, Lisa Cartwright, Alison Leigh and others.
You can also watch a short video capturing the 49th AFO atmosphere.
Good luck to all filmmakers!
