KASHISH Mumbai International Queer FilmFestival 2011, thesecond edition of India’s only mainstream LGBT film fest, promises to be BIGGER, BOLDER & QUEERER. The second edition will be held from May 25-29, 2011 at two venues in Mumbai, one of whichwill be a multiplex theater.
This year, the festival willshowcase more than 130 films from over 25 countries.
The highlights this year:- More feature length films than last year with some verysensitive lesbian themed features.- Films from across the globe: from US to UK, Australiato Austria, India to Indonesiaand even Argentina and Peru.- This year, the ‘Country Focus’ will be on Israel withmore than 8 films from there.- ‘Spotlight on Filmmaker’ will shine on US filmmaker Q. Open Doors and attractive prizes for India at Locarno
Olivier Père, the French film critic who is a member of IFFI jury, is also the Artistic Director of the Locarno Film Festival. In his second capacity, he brings welcome news to Indian film buffs and budding scriptwriters. Gladly presenting you a Major International Film Festival in India this year. The festival is called “Global Cinema Festival” (GCF) and is jointly organized by Film Federation of India (FFI) and State Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP). FFI is the Apex Body of Film Industry in India and this film festival will be its flagship event in film festivals. Hence although it is a debut year for the festival, the grandiose, success, network and continuity are rest assured. The festival will be organized at Indore from 9 -15, October 09. Indore is a key city in Madhya Pradesh (MP) and business wise the barometer for box office in Central India. So GCF will be at the center of the center!
