DV Awards 2012

The DV Awards is a new and exciting international competition celebrating outstanding creative and technical achievements in the emerging world of digital video production. From independent films, commercials, corporate communications and industrial videos to 3D animation, special effects and event videos, dozens of categories will be recognized.

With the advent and increasing affordability of digital video, a rising number of outstanding productions are not being produced in multimillion dollar film and television studios, but in small desktop studios, manned by a few determined and creative individuals. The DV awards were created to honor these individuals and their accomplishments.

The Last Docking - stories of abandoned seafares -

Director: Emiliano Pappacena - Anna Maria Selini.
In ports all over the world, alongside cargo and tourist ships, there are also vessels that have not been operated for months, if not for years. These abandoned ships are left moored to rust by their shipowners, often never to be recovered, because of financial distress, security issues or seizure. The problem is that in most cases the whole crew is still on board. These seafarers, who were recruited months before with a valid employment contract, suddenly find themselves thousands of kilometres from home, without food, water and, ever worse, pay cheque. This TV report was made by Emiliano Pappacena and Anna Maria Selini in collaboration with Antonio Demma.

About DDR for Sony

Reprint Works great with Sony Z1U I bought this unit for my Sony Z1U after being pleased with the Sony POV camera (HXR-MC1) with Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo media for over a year. Solid State recording media are the way to go!

I downloaded and read the manual thoroughly before buying the device, so there weren't very many surprises. I avoid manufacturers that don't make their manuals available before purchase.

The HVR-MRC1 mounts on the hot shoe of the Z1U with an adaptor that is ...

Threads was edited within a single editing program. No additional plug-ins were used. Music: Scope J by Scott Walker (vocals by Ute Lemper). International festival screening rights secured.
