Thursday, March 15----The Bermuda International Film Festival celebrates a milestone tenth anniversary this year, offering an intriguing mix of film premieres, special tributes, information seminars and, of course, legendary parties that showcase the natural beauty and serenity of this island nation in the Atlantic Ocean. The Festival opens on Friday evening, March 16 and runs through Saturday, March 24.
Sixteen films, a mix of 8 feature dramas and 8 feature documentaries, will compete for the BIFF Jury Awards, which will be given out at a gala Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening, March 24. The Festival will also present a tribute to Czech Cinema, a World Cinema Showcase of winners at previous international film events, and a retrospective tribute to Bermuda-born actor Earl Cameron, showcasing his classic films of the 1950s and 1960s. The Festival also marks its tenth birthday by offering retrospective screenings of a host of titles that were celebrated over the Festival's first decade.
I will be covering all the festivities for you, so I invite you to log on frequently for the films, the festivities, the flavor and the fun of the 2007 edition of the Bermuda International Film Festival.
