Tryon, NC - Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) has announced a cooperative partnership with EQUUS TELEVISION NETWORK, also known as EQUUS TV. TRIFF, now in its ninth year, has been listed on IMDb as a festival and has been gaining recognition from notable directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors.
EQUUS TV is a digital streaming network that is dedicated to equestrian content. The network is headquartered in Wellington, Florida, and is available on various platforms such as AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and the EQUUS TV app, which can be downloaded on smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs.
TRIFF is located in Tryon, North Carolina, with a large equestrian interest as well as the Tryon International Equestrian Center. The festival has expanded to include various categories, such as Best Short Equestrian Feature and Best Full-Length Equestrian Feature, accommodating both dramatic features and documentaries.
Kirk Gollwitzer and Beau Menetre are the co-founders of TRIFF, and the festival is programmed under the umbrella of the Polk County Film Initiative (PCFI), a 501(c)(3) organization. Debra Torrance is the Executive Director, and Tom Trobaugh serves as the PCFI Board President.
TRIFF is not linked to EQUUS TV in any legal sense, and all negotiations between the filmmaker and EQUUS TV are between the filmmaker and EQUUS TV and not TRIFF. Submitting filmmakers will have the opportunity to have a direct conversation with EQUUS TV and hopefully gain exposure and perhaps distribution with EQUUS TV. Trailers and news about their film's involvement with TRIFF can be shown on EQUUS TV prior to, during, and after the film festival, which runs from October 6-8.
TRIFF also has an expanding educational component under the leadership of Ashley Crane, Director of Education. Crane has developed a curriculum that includes a broad range of workshops and seminars, including screenwriting, acting, cinematography, and film production. TRIFF is committed to providing an opportunity for filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds to showcase their talent and passion for the art of filmmaking.
