The Mise En Scène Company (MSC) sets a distribution deal with New York and European distributor SPI International

After launching at the American Film Market last year it was announced today that the new London based sales outfit The Mise En Scène Company (MSC) has established a distribution deal with New York and European distributor SPI International which includes all six of MSCs titles.

SPI International/FilmBox is a global media company operating a diverse portfolio of 42 television channels and digital services on six continents. FilmBox being its flagship movie service, SPI is one of the biggest aggregators of native Ultra HD content in the world. Working with over 700 operators worldwide, SPI uses state of the art technology providing its 90 million subscribers with access to SPI’s linear and on-demand content including live streaming of UHD programming and FilmBox service on any internet-connected device via major global streaming players as well as local OTT providers. SPI recently added to its portfolio Film1 premium movie services in The Netherlands, including four linear offers and an on-

demand service.  For over 25 years, SPI International has been a leading supplier of theatrical films and television programming in the international market. SPI’s solid alliances with major license suppliers provide compelling content, with strong recognition and high demand.

The titles acquired by SPI non-exclusively include:

WHAT LIES AHEAD starring Rumer Willis, Emma Dumont, Kelly Blatz and Katie Keene. Directed by Rob Gardner, the film was written by William J. Viglione and produced by Gardner, Viglione and Joe Michael Burke. The film follows the tensions between two young women who are thrown together on an unexpected road trip.

I WROTE THIS FOR YOU directed by Jason Zavaleta and written by Brennan Keel Cook. The film stars Brennan Keel Cook, Patrick R Walker, Melise, Michael Badalucco and Nina Hartley. Producers are Zavaleta, Matt Stoner and Stefania Pierucci with David A. Thielens, John and Barbara Stoner, Tom and Margie Fox, Sonia Sandu, Sohale Haji and Colin Ho executive producing. In the film the edges of reality are blurred when a young man (Cook) struggles to overcome a broken relationship. 

EATING CARS directed by Trevor Hollen and starring Lexi Pappas, Lauren Ashley Carter, Maise Klompus and Willow Hale. The directorial debut by Los Angeles based director is being boldly vaunted by MSC as the “Millennial rebirth of Jarmusch”.

SUPER NOVEMBER directed by Douglas King and starring Josie Long, Sean Biggerstaff, Heydon Prowse.

SYNCHRONICITY directed by Lyndon Horsfall and starring Sara Mitich and Ash Catherwood.

REACH directed by Leif Rokesh and starring Garrett Clayton, Jordan Doww and Johnny James Fiore.

The deal represents a major step forward for The Mise En Scène Company which was only formed last March during the first London lockdown and only officially launched its initial titles at AFM in November. The company shall be attending its second market digitally in March at the EFM which recently shifted to digital due to the pandemic.

The release strategy for MSCs slate is yet to be confirmed, but will potentially involve exclusive linear television channels, TVOD, SVOD and other mediums in the U.K , U.S.A, Canada and other territories. MSC is planning to launch TWO NEW TITLES and potentially a TV SERIES at the EFM in March, to be announced closer to the market date.
