“THE UNFAMILIAR” STARRING JEMIMA WEST AND CHRISTOPHER DANE
Scoundrel Media, the genre label of Myriad Pictures, is pleased to announce the acquisition of THE UNFAMILIAR, a thriller-horror feature film directed by Henk Pretorius (Leading Lady), co-written with Jennifer Nicole Stang, starring Jemima West (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc) and Christopher Dane (Born of Hope).
Scoundrel Media acquired the international sales rights and will premiere THE UNFAMILIAR at the Cannes Virtual Market. The film was produced by Llewelynn Greeff (Blood and Glory, Leading Lady) and Barend Kruger (Leading Lady), and executive produced by Gareth Jones (Lock, Stock, Psych:9, Love Sarah).
THE UNFAMILIAR tells the story of a British Army doctor (Jemima West) who comes back from war, thinking she has PTSD, only to discover that there are malevolent spirits present at home making the life that she knew unfamiliar.
Dark Matter Studios produced THE UNFAMILIAR in association with Trigger Films and Onsight.
Scoundrel Media will handle international sales, excluding the UK and South Africa. Vertical Entertainment will release in North America.
Quantify Distribution Limited is releasing the film in the UK with Lionsgate and Elevation handling Home Entertainment rights.
