"terroir" has been accepted to the UNCG Sustainability Film Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina for March 26th, 2020. Written/helmed and sung by Dawn Westlake, "terroir" is a musical doc exploring how the mother-child relationship may cloud our perceptions of very capable female leaders in all sectors of society. An original score was composed and mixed by award-winning composer GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs. "terroir" was shot, edited and its considerable visual effects were done by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona.
"terroir" marks the professional acting debut of 4-yr-old actress Lilly Johnson.
It was shot on location in Wheaton & Peru, IL, USA, Font Romeu, France and Vilafranca del Penedes, Spain in 2019.
"terroir" has won two awards, at the Festival de Cine de Villa de Leyva in Bogota, Colombia and at Chhatrapati Shivaji Film Festival in Pune, India.
