"terroir" will be the sole representative of the USA at the 10th Festival de Cortometrajes Ernesto Esteban Etchenique at the Museo de la Reconquista in Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 21st, 2019. This is the 9th festival acceptance for "terroir" since it was released on September 9th. Written/helmed and produced by Dawn Westlake under her Ron de Cana Prods, Inc. shingle, "terroir" explores the mother-child relationship and how it can cloud our perceptions of very capable female leaders in all sectors of society. The film was shot on location in Wheaton & Peru, IL, USA by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona, with second unit footage done in Font Romeu, France and Vilafranca del Penedes, Catalunya, Spain. Pol also did the considerable visual effects and editing. "terroir" was orchestrated by GC Johnson of Acoustic Lab who also mixed and coached Westlake's singing voice.
Making her professional acting debut in "terroir" is 4-yr-old Lilly Johnson, the granddaughter of Westlake's first cousin.
