Supernatural thriller to be introduced to buyers in the Cannes marketplace.
Raven Banner has snapped up World sales rights excluding Finland, Sweden and Italy to Adrian Garcia Bogliano's “Black Circle” (Svart Cirkel), a Swedish-language supernatural thriller produced by Bo and Rickard Gramfors of Sweden's Klubb Super 8 and Andrea Quiroz Hernandez of Mexico's Salto de Fe Films, also backed by Joshua Sobel’s L.A.-based F, Pete Tombs' and Andrew Starke's U.K. outfit Mondo Macabro, Sweden’s Solid Entertainment and Tenebrae Enterprises from Finland.
Spain-born Garcia Bogliano, now working out of Mexico, was a 2012 Austin Fantastic Fest five-prize winner with the Spanish-language “Here Comes the Devil.”
The film stars Swedish icon Christina Lindberg, Quentin Tarantino’s inspiration for “Kill Bill,” through her role in 1973 Swedish cult classic thriller “They Call Her One-Eye.”
“This was my opportunity to work with Christina Lindberg who has been one of my favorite actresses for many years,” said Bogliano.
“Black Circle” turns on two sisters whose lives change dramatically after going through hypnosis using a mysterious vinyl album recorded in the 1970s.
“Having previously released Adrian's Late Phases in Canada, it's awesome to be re-teaming with Bogliano and Andrea Quiroz Hernandez to support their next vision,”Black Circle.” said Raven Banner's Managing Partner Michael Paszt.
“Black Circle’s” cast also features award-winning Swedish actors such as Best Actress Guldbagge nominee Felice Jankell ("Young Sophie Bell", "Sobibor"), Hanna and Erica Midfjäll (“I Miss You”), Madeleine Trollvik (“Johan Falk”) and singer Johan Palm.
The deal was negotiated by Raven Banner's Managing Partner, James Fler and Paszt with Mikko Aromaa of Tenebrae Enterprises.
