FIRST FEATURE COMPETITION
28. November @ 21.00 Tallinna kino Sõprus
29. November @ 17.00 Tartu kino Cinamon
Hello Arsi
Filmed in Odia language, this is writer-director Sambit Mohanty’s first and unfortunately also last film (he died suddenly during post-production in 2017). You can sense a longing here for a simpler time and a yearning to find each other in a situation where advancements in technology have isolated us more and more.
This enchanting and delicate film is about a man and a woman who meet and spend their whole day together, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. It all gets a lot more complicated when they start talking about their feelings.
The film will be presented by the producer Producer Ajaya Routray.

Sunburn
A modern villa in the dry Portuguese summer landscape. The sun scorching bright high in the sky, four well-built bodies - three male, one female - hanging out by the pool, on the porch, in the bedrooms. All seem to be waiting for something, or as it soon turns out - someone. Scene by scene we are revealed the complex interpersonal relations and the most important, the relation of all the characters with the one who is being waited for. Who is that mythical person and what will happen when he finally arrives?
Director Vicente Alves do Ó and his team have succeeded, with an enjoyably beguiling directorial style and visual style, to load dramatic and emotional tension into one of the most tedious of all activities - waiting. Four people waiting for the fifth one, someone who has left and unforgettable mark on the souls and hearts of all of them, in some cases the scar tissue almost visible to the plain eye.
Join us tomorrow for the world premiere with director Vicente Alves do Ó, cast members Ricardo Barbosa, Oceana Basilio, Nuno Pardal and Pandora Gagnon da Cunha Telles.

Happiness is a Warm Gun
Five characters. Five novels. One room. Five fictional characters meet in a bunker, a rancid bar or in an underpass furnished by its homeless inhabitant – a non-place that condemns them to eternal togetherness.
Driven by the failure in their histories, they seek repose and comfort in people who can not offer them any. And yet, the hope for instances of humanness smolders in this restless solitude.
