The internationally recognized Russian supermodel-turned-actress not only stars as the female lead, she is also the director, producer and writer. Skova plays a CIA operative, code named The Serpent, who uncovers she is being exploited by her own agency as part of a nefarious scheme connected to her assignment. A race against time, she flees her team’s watchful eye where her escape takes her to China in an attempt to unravel a major global conspiracy.
With the film 70% completed, Skova eyes a 2018 release.“We are thrilled to announce the making of this special film,” says the international beauty. “The process for us started two years ago and continues to be a labor of love that we look forward to sharing with the world.”THE SECRET MISSION OF THE SERPENT
This intercontinental thriller marks a directorial debut for Skova and offers a glimpse into her rare combination of artistic aptitude, emotional range, athletic ability and versatility, which includes performing all her own stunts. In a story of reality colliding with art, Skova draws off of her own intelligence, skill and strength to portray her character, who boldly challenges one of the world’s most powerful organizations in an adrenaline chase to bring justice to the innocent. With its largely international cast and over 30% of the film being shot in China, Skova shares, “We are pleased to have the Chinese market open its doors to us, welcoming our engagement as the film continues to build momentum.”
The Serpent is primed for a strong showing domestically and internationally, including China. Producing the film alongside Skova are partner Pasha Skovorodin and three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Jared Safier (The Bay). The Serpent also stars Tzi Ma, who is best known for his roles in Veep, Arrival, and 24, as well as Jason Scott Jenkins (American Horror Story) and Craig Conway (Doomsday). There are two additional male lead roles which have yet to be cast. While top name options are currently being considered, this casting opportunity remains open.
Skova will be attending the AFM intent on aligning with star power and investors keen on sharing her vision for completing production on her film. She will be hosting a special reception in Santa Monica during AFM as part of a first-look showing of The Serpent’s advance demo.
