Embark on a transformative journey at the world premiere of the 13th annual Adventure Film Festival & Street Fair at the historic Boulder Theater. Presented by Intrepid Travel and Patagonia, this three-day, community-driven event showcases a diverse collection of the year’s most groundbreaking independent films, interactive art, workshops, and insightful speakers that inspire activism through adventure.

Blood Road (90 min)
Director: Nicholas Schrunk
Rebecca Rusch is an ultra endurance mountain bike athlete. Blood Road follows her journey and her Vietnamese professional riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 arduous miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their Goal: to reach the newly discovered crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.

Director: Bryan Smith
Gavin McClurg and Dave Turner are professional paragliders attempting a full, unsupported 500 mile traverse of the Alaska Range by foot and paraglider. The team faces endless extreme weather, starvation, grizzly bears, uncrossable rivers and countless glaciers in one of the worlds most remote and inhospitable mountain ranges.

Fresh out of graduating from university, Ben Page heads into the world on his bike to live his teenage dream. Soon he finds himself riding North in the frozen expanse of the Yukon wilderness where many adventures await him in the cold.

With the support of filmmakers, sponsors, non-profits, partners, volunteers—all adventurers — Adventure Film Festival will feature the 2017 award winners on a World Tour traveling from Boulder to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, DC, Chile, India, Nepal, Israel, and several major cities in between.
