Laurie Gordon of Montreal Internatioal Animation Film Festival and Yvonne Grzenkowicz of Animation Nights New York
Since it's inception Animation Day in Cannes brings together "animation orphans" as Laurie Gordon director of the Montreal International Animation Film Festival refers to the films that used to get lost at larger film festivals typcially catering to live action features. Having noticed the "lost" animation films at major festivals including Cannes proof is in the pudding as the event has become a great success.
The idea sprung from an observation Gordon had made that the animated films seemed to get little visibility at major festivals hence Animation Day in Cannes was born.
Bringing in partners such as the Animation Wold Networld AWN - Gordon had her finger on the pulse which forged into the Animation Day in Cannes where animation professionals gather for an entire day at Cannes alongside panesl as well as screenings at le Palais.
And don't forget deadlines for the Montreal edition end soon. Enter today on Filmfreeway.
