"Lines" a film by Vassilis Mazomenos :
A call operator endeavors to help people keep on living and hoping.
Storyline : Greece now days. Seven different stories about seven persons who have already reached their limits and finally fall apart.
Despite their seemingly obvious connection they are simultaneously connected through a common desperate action: the last phone call to the psychological support center called "life line". It's their last hope. As no one can really help them, even then, they all remain another part of the contemporary Greek tragedy.
Director's note : The inspiration of the film is the true and incredible fact of numerous suicides that sweep Greek society over the past seven years of the economic crisis.
Cast : The film is not only introducing a number of great new actors but relaunches the brilliant acting of some of the most important Greek actors of modern times, such as Themis Panou (2013 Venice Film Festival, Best Actor for Miss Violence) and Anna Kalaitzidou (2009 Dogtooth). In this way Vassilis Mazomenos has managed to combine the ideal cast to animate the Greek tragedy today.
The Vision : This could be another long shot film but in this film long shots are not just a cinematic way. They are still a remarkable way to exercise in style and the choreographic way but they are also the ideal way to put humans right in the plot point of narration. Long shots are the way to let actors not just to act but also to feel and live through space and time during a scene.
