In advance of the premiere of Bright Lights, a documentary with unseen before archive footage focusing on her life and relationship with her mother Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher came by the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Market to talk about Women in the film industry, Hollywood, Star Wars and many more.
Sitting side by side with her dog Gary that stole all the attention from the press, Carrie threw in some humorous answers to hot topics about her career and her relationship with her mother. Admitting that as a teen, observing Hollywood and the industry through her parents' careers, she wanted to stay away from it, the actress joked about "actually doing a very good job about that."
The producer of the film Fisher Stevens spoke about an incredible filming process where he worked and observed Carrie and Debbie very close, with the latter telling him all the time "I know it's a documentary, I've done it before. Just bring me a script."
Describing her mother as a very bossy woman, Carrie Fisher underlined that she is and has always been one of her best friends, while also pointing out her jealousy for her great looks, although being in her mid-80s now. In regards to her return in the recent Star Wars as Princess Leia, she felt since the begninning that it was meant to be a hit movie.
On a question about how she got involved in "Harry met Sally" she replied laughing "I slept with all the right people."
Bright Lights with Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds premieres at a special screening in Cannes tonight.
In the meantime she invites everyone to follow her dog Gary on Instagram(!).
