Dawn Westlake's "Games People Play" received its 38th film festival acceptance this week at the Moab International Film Festival in Moab, Utah, USA for November 20-23, 2015.
According to a festival press release dated October 28th, 2015:
"Highlights among the short film selections include Dawn Westlake's 'Games People Play',a darkly comic piece on the power of words that she says 'makes a plea for the return to sincerity...using irony.' Choosing from over 600 submissions from around the world, the festival's organizers selected films that have a positive effect on society, and aim to promote independent films that do not promote or normalize unhealthy lifestyles or behaviors and are not influenced by a corporate agenda.”
The film stars former Second City-LA artistic director David Razowsky and "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" Mark Jacobson, along with Westlake herself. It was shot on the Canon C500 by Jon Carr, who also edited and did special effects. An Ennio Morricone-esque score was provided by Alvarez-featured guitarist and composer GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs who recently scored "Back in Time", the "Back to the Future" documentary which premiered on 10-21-2015.
