The main theme of this year's workshop is "How advanced imaging techniques should impact the 3D movie experience: 4K/8K/Ultra High Definition (UHD), High Dynamic Range (HDR), Extended/Wide Color Gamut (E/WCG), High Frame Rate (HFR), Laser Illuminated Projection (LIP)...".
It is particularly fitting that the President of the new "Advanced Imaging Society" (AIS) - Jim Chabin - will be present to give the view from Hollywood concerning the impact of these technologies on the improvement of the moviegoers' experience, in particular for 3D.
The workshop is also the opportunity for 3D Stereo MEDIA to launch its calls for contents, projects, and papers.
IMPORTANT: There will also be an international PRESS CONFERENCE where some important announcements will be made that should concern all people active in any aspect and any application of any form of 3D. If you are passionate about 3D, you owe it to yourself to be present at the historic unveiling of the new initiatives!
Last, but not least, there will be a light lunch for those registered for the workshop.
The program of the workshop can be found on our website.
As in previous years, this workshop is expected to be the main gathering point and highlight for 3D in Cannes! 3D enthusiasts from all over the world should consider attending!
The event will be held on the American Pavilion in the International Village in Cannes, on Fri 15 May, from 10:00 am till about 2:00 pm. Please, arrive early to secure your seat.
There is no fee for attending, but prior registration is required, and proper Festival accreditation is also required to get access to the International Village where the workshop is held. We can help you to secure such accreditation if necessary.
