First off...The Robot - Should win a www.Writersandfilmmakers.com award for best character. Oscar it up baby... Think about it. Ominious (intro), pleasant, comedic, heroic. DAMN, that's a good character.
3 physics points you should know about before/after/during watching interstellar:
1/Spacetime
Spacetime is a word. Einstein explained the nature of 'spacetime'. It's like a tree, a person its manipulatable.
2/Gravity:
You must also understand that time is affect/effected (yes both mofo) by Gravity and Speed of object moving. It Influences time as experienced by an observer.
3/Black Holes
Blackholes are such massive objects made out of curved space and time - that not even light can escape. They twist and distort time and space.
Watch a couple lectures by kip Thorne. The leading physisct who C&J Nolan spoke to in order to write the script.
Once our farmer/cowboy/engineer and good'ol american Matthew McConaughey enters the black hole...it's all speculation (scientifically speaking)...and that's where the genius of Christopher and Jonathan Nolan really shines! Wow! Those two guys are crazy talented.
Outstanding questions: Who put the worm hole there? Was it us in the future? Who are the 5th dimension people - are they us?
And to finish off: An ongoing male joke is about how many women need a man if surrounded by no one but sperm. Anne Hathway was the quintessential female stereo type (that's not always a bad thing). She chose to shed love over logic, bias or otherwise...and became a god like or 'human zero' for the next civilization. Amazing!
