The New York City Independent Film Festival just started its crowd funding campaign in Indiegogo. The main goal is help and support indie filmmakers to be part of the festival. Contributions will sponsor submissions or pay for selected filmmakers to travel to New York and will help advertise films to distributors and the national networks.
Take a look at the crowd funding campaign in Indiegogo: www.indiegogo.com/projects/nyc-indie-film-fest. Right bellow the video, there are buttons for you to share it on Facebook and Twitter very easily.
This festival runs differently from other festivals. It gathers movies from around the globe that people won’t find anywhere else, movies that the world must see. It seeks untold stories and unspoken voices -- from horrors to documentaries to adventures to comedies, from great acting to anime. That’s how the future stars are discovered.
A dedicated team of volunteers works for the festival, but renting theaters and equipment is expensive. And many filmmakers from developing countries don’t have the money to come to their own screenings. For some, even the low submission fees are an unsurmountable expense. Donators may sponsor fees, travel costs and, as a result, encourage indie and student filmmakers and their dreams of taking the art to new heights.
Everyone can help the New York City Independent Film Festival to continue supporting indie filmmakers. You can be a contributor or just SPREAD THE WORD: tell family and friends, share on Facebook and Twitter, post in your blog or send emails. Every indie filmmaker will be grateful!
