The Montreal World Film Festival has announced that film and journalism students, from all cinema schools and universities, will be eligible for free admission to its screenings in all sections (except for opening and closing evenings). The Festival will create a special pass for students in these fields and eligibility for this pass will depend on proper credentials.
A cultural event of international renown among whose founding principles is the encouragement of quality cinema from around the world, the Festival has placed great importance on the discovery of new talent with its First Films World Competition and Student Film Festival, the oldest continuing film festival in Canada.
"By offering free accreditation to students in cinema and journalism, the MWFF is supporting the emergence of new talent in film and media and is reemphasizing its fervent commitment to the future of the seventh art," declared MWFF president Serge Losique.
"Cinema Student" and "Journalism Student" registration forms may be obtained from: accreditations@ffm-montreal.org
This year's 36th edition of the Montreal World Film Festival will be held August 23 to September 3, 2012.
