For the first time presented within the frame of the 15th edition of the festival Cinéma Tous Ecrans, 2-8 November 2009, Cinéma Tout DOOH is a competiton for short and silent films dedicated to the DOOH (Digital Out Of home). The competion is free and open to all and has as a goal to screen in competition artistic films of max. 20 seconds created specificially for this new medium.
The selected films will be broadcast during 3 weeeks on Neo Advertising’s network of screens ( more than 2'000 throughout Switzerland) as well as on the website of the competition.
The theme for this first edition is « Art in the City »

15 years already since Cinema Tous Ecrans has been emancipating the audiovisual world of its boundaries. First, bringing together cinema and television, today : computer screens, mobile phones and urban screens, with only criterion the artistic quality of the works featured. This year, Cinema Tous Ecrans will be moving further onwards bringing together cinema and theatre with a new competition entitled “From the Stage to the Screen”.
MULTIMEDIA SECTION
Following the success of the launch of its new section “New Screens for Drama” during its previous edition, Cinema Tous Ecrans returns this year with a selection of the best interactive multimedia drama, feature films and series produced for the web. Not to be missed: Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy, as well as new mobile series such as Isabella Rosselini’s Green Porno. A further exciting event is the new Grand Prix Pacte Multimedia for best work of the section New Screens for Drama.
OFFICIAL COMPETITION
With its selection of feature films produced for television and cinema, Cinema Tous Ecrans invites you to enjoy the world premiere of the new Swiss film Déchaînées by Raymond Vouillamoz (TSR/ Arte), as well as the international premieres of Olivier Lécot’s A NY Thing (Arte), Eran Creevy’s Shifty (BBC), and the Mexican contribution Norteado by Rigoberto Pérezcano.
COMPETITION SERIES – Collections & Long Dramas
Having hosted the international premieres of such cult series as 24 Hours, Oz, The L-Word or Damages, this year’s selection boasts the world premiere of the series Les invincibles (Arte) as well as international premieres among which the Pulitzer Prize adaptation John Adams (HBO), the musical series Glee (Fox), and last but not least, “series noires” adapted by directors such as Emmanuelle Bercot, Raoul Ruiz and Claire Denis in Suite noire (France 2). A further novelty this year is a series retrospective dedicated to the great David Simon, who notably created the event series The Wire.
SHORT FILM COMPETITION This programme focuses on new productions, both Swiss and European.
MAJOR FILM DIRECTOR ON SMALL SCREEN
Following David Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan, Stephen Frears, Michael Mann and Charles Burnett, the Festival will be honouring this year British filmmaker Danny Boyle (Inspector Morse, Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, etc.)
SPECIAL EVENTS
A special Multimedia Day with symposiums focusing on copyright issues in the age of the Internet as well as the contributions of video games to drama.
The Festival programme equally features the Swissperform Awards ceremony for best Swiss TV film.
With The Magic Lantern, Cinema Tous Ecrans organises screenings and film workshops for children.
In parallel, the Geneva Select Market, the international film and television market organised in partnership with Swiss Films has become an essential meeting-point for the promotion of Swiss and international feature films.
