The 8th Annual 2009 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF09) held at selected theatres throughout New York City April 22 - May 3 features a spectacular line up of music films. This year's slate of music films include:
BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE: THE STORY OF CBGB, directed by Mandy Stein, screens at the AMC Village 7, Friday, April 24, 8:30PM, and Monday, April 27, 3:30PM. The World Premiere will be held at the SVA Theater, Thursday, April 30, 7:00PM.
The historical documentary film based on New York's world-renowned underground nightclub CBGB-OMFUG (1973 - 2006) founded by Hilly Kristal. CBGB introduced punk rock and new wave music with live performances by legendary bands which debuted at the club such as The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, Bad Brains, Patti Smith, The Sex Pistols and many others.
BON JOVI: WHEN WE WERE BEAUTIFUL, directed by Phil Griffin debuts at the BMCC Tribeca PAC, Wednesday, April 29, 9:30PM with additional screenings held at the AMC Village 7, Thursday, April 30, 1:45PM, and Saturday, May 2, 9:45PM. This documentary captures the world tour behind the scenes with rock star icon Bon Jovi and his band.
GUY AND MADELINE ON A PARK BENCH, directed by Damien
Chazelle, premieres at the AMC Village 7, Thursday, April 23, 7:15PM, with additional screenings on Friday, April 24, 5:00PM, and Sunday, April 26, 11:00AM.
SOUL POWER, directed by Jeff Levy-Hinte, premieres at the SVA
Theater, Thursday, April 30, 8:00PM, with additional screenings held at the AMC Village 7, Friday, May 1, 3:30PM, and Saturday, May 2, 5:00PM.
P-STAR RISING, directed by Gabriel Noble, premieres at the AMC
Village 7, Friday, April 24, 6:45PM, with additional screenings on Wednesday,
April 29, 4:00PM, Saturday May 2, 121:45PM; Tribeca Free Drive-In Outdoor on Saturday, April 25, 8:15PM; a special live performance with young hip-hop star P-Star and The Electric Company precedes the screening.
SOUNDTRACK FOR A REVOLUTION, directed by Bill Buttentag and Dan Sturman, premieres at the SVA Theater, Saturday, April 25, 5:00PM, with
additional screenings held at the AMC Village 7, Sunday, April 26, 1:15PM, and Friday, May 1, 9:15PM.
