2007 ReelzChannel (http://www.reelzchannel.com), the only cable/satellite TV network dedicated to "Everything about Movies - 24/7," has named Geoffrey Gilmore, longtime director of the Sundance Film Festival, to guest host Secret's Out with Leonard Maltin during the week of March 19. Gilmore will share his personal picks for movies that deserve greater exposure.
Secret's Out, regularly hosted by noted film critic and movie guide author Leonard Maltin, is dedicated to mining the hidden gems of the movie world for discriminating fans. Secret's Out has been part of network's slate of original programming since ReelzChannel premiered in September in 28 million homes, ranking as the largest debut in the history of cable network launches.
Gilmore has served as director of the Sundance Film Festival for 17 years, where he is responsible for all selections and helms the overall artistic direction of the Festival. In addition, Gilmore is a programming consultant to Robert Redford, the Sundance Channel, the Sundance Group and the recently created Sundance Film Series, and he directs the Sundance Independent Producers Conference. Gilmore is a faculty member of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and well-known internationally as a seminar host, guest lecturer and teacher of master classes on independent film and for serving as a judge on numerous international film festival juries.
"I'm looking forward to sharing my picks with dedicated and discriminating movie fans that rely on ReelzChannel's Secret's Out to ferret out gems that truly shouldn't be missed," said Gilmore. "So many movies out there deserve a wider audience, and ReelzChannel viewers are actively engaged and seeking guidance for genuinely interesting and satisfying movie experiences."
"Geoff's instincts and efforts have been responsible for introducing countless independent films to more mainstream audiences," said ReelzChannel's Ian Valentine, Senior Vice President of Programming. "He's a perfect guest host for Secret's Out, which serves movie fans who are eager to discover 'off the radar' movies they may have missed that are truly worth watching."
