The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) announced the winners of the 2007 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for screen, television and radio writing in gala ceremonies at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre in New York on Sunday, February 11, 2007.

Emmy-winning writer/comedian Robert Wuhl hosted the West Coast show, which was executive produced by Blaze Television's Conor McAnally and Bart Peters. Presenters scheduled to appear at the gala event in Los Angeles included: JJ Abrams, Neal Baer, Glen Charles, Les Charles, Marc Cherry, Greg Daniels, Diane English, Spike Feresten, Morgan Freeman, Antwone Fisher, Ben Garant, Georgia Jeffries, Tom Lennon, David Milch, Diana Ossana, Aaron Sorkin, Robert Towne, Steve Zaillian, and John Sacret Young. Also in attendance were: Selma Blair, Steve Carell, Dan Castellaneta, Ivan Reitman, and Jay Roach.
Tina Fey, star, executive producer, and writer of 30 Rock and an Emmy Award-winner for writing on Saturday Night Live, hosted the event in New York. The event was produced by Anne Marie Gaynor, coordinated by Marsha Manns, and the head writer was David Steven Cohen. Presenters scheduled to attend in New York included: Alec Baldwin, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Chenoweth, Jim Downey, Griffin Dunne, Kathryn Erbe, Susie Essman, Edie Falco, Harvey Fierstein, Nancy Giles, Gilbert Gottfried, Robert Klein, Jane Krakowski, John Leguizamo, Christopher Meloni, Rita Moreno, Tracy Morgan, Charles Osgood, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mo Rocca, Andy Rooney, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Music during the ceremony was provided by The Mark Pender Band. Also in attendance were: Robert Duvall, David Chase, Miramax's Chris Brescia, and Rick Burns and Arthur and Barbara Gelb from American Experience.
The Writers Guild of America, West presented special honors to: Robert Benton - Screen Laurel Award; John Wells - Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television; Larry Gelbart - Valentine Davies Award; and Daryl G. Nickens - Morgan Cox Award.
The Writers Guild of America, East presented special honors to: Lorne Michaels - Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence; Andrew Bergman - Ian McLellan Hunter Award For Lifetime Achievement in Writing; Joan Didion - Evelyn F. Burkey Award for contributions bringing honor and dignity to writers everywhere; and Gail Lee - Jablow Award for devoted service to the Guild.
The West Coast show's credits included: head writer Dave Boone; talent producer Steven Schillaci, and production designer Dave Edwards.
Credits for the East ceremony include talent coordinators Lisa Phillips and Kristina Weldon. Among others, the show was written by staff members from The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, and Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
