ANDRÉ LAMY IS NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE FESTIVAL DU NOUVEAU CINEMA
The Board of Directors of the Festival du Nouveau Cinema is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. André Lamy to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lamy has been a member of the Board for five years and has accepted the appointment, which takes effect immediately.
As a prominent figure in the film industry, in which he has worked for over forty years, André Lamy has held numerous senior executive positions in both the public and private sectors. He was, successively, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, Government Film Commissioner and Chairman of the National Film Board of Canada, and Vice-President of Société Radio-Canada; after entering the private sector, he held senior positions at three production companies: Onyx Films (CEO), CinéGroupe (officer in charge of project financing) and Galafilm Inc. (Vice-President).
The Board of Directors of the Festival du Nouveau Cinema is pleased to welcome Mr. Lamy to the role of President and CEO. The Board’s nomination was unanimous. Mr. Lamy will lend his expertise to the Festival, helping it organize its 34th edition, October 13th through 23rd, 2005.
