Darren Vigil Gray, a 2004 Durango Film Festival Artist, will be honored at a reception March 10th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Sorrel Sky Gallery.
Darren Vigil Gray is a modern Indian and a modern painter. His loose and colorful style is based soundly on the idea of artist as a mediator between the earthy world of paint and the unearthly realm of artistic creation. Gray never compromises the elements of the natural world, and manages to remain firmly in the modern world. Other works by the artist will be on display until March 17th.
The Durango Film Festival's original painting "Land of the Basket Makers Series" will be auctioned at the reception.
More than 120 independent films, features, documentaries, animation, short films, children's, and regional films will be shown over the next nine days, March 6-14, beginning at 9 a.m. until midnight.
