European pitch point aims to promote European scriptwriters and their projects.
For scriptwriters, this means the chance to work together with other professionals
from the European market already in the early stages of development. Over the
past three years, the event has been held during the Berlin International Film Festival.
All participating scriptwriters, producers and commissioning editors made important
contacts, and projects flourished. Many of the scriptwriters from previous years
have signed contracts. Scripts which were picked up by producers are now moving
towards production.
European pitch point 2003 will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2003 during
the Berlin International Film Festival. The international jury of european pitch
point will be present at the event and introduce the 12 chosen finalists.
The scriptwriters will present their material in a 3 minutes pitch to the
participating producers and commissioning editors. This pitching session will
be followed by "roundtables", where the authors will have the chance
to present their projects in more detail. The third round will offer participating
producers and commissioning editors the possibility to meet the scriptwriters
during "individual meetings".
