The 30th BIFFF will take place from the 5th of April in Brussels.
Yesterday, what a night! Between Barbara Steele, Terry Gilliam and a surprise video from siiiiir John Carpenter, the tune has been given for this 30th BIFFF anniversary!
The Brussels International Film Festival has grown from a small, relatively unknown (except to the fans of the fantastic) happening into a grand scale event that lures over 60.000 spectators every year and shows over 100 films. For this reason we have decided to celebrate the birthday of the festival by making this an event you’ll never forget ! Besides the amazing films we’ll be presenting, we’ll also have an exhibition of Jean-Marc Laroche, different kinds of workshops, make-up and body painting competitions and a crazy vampire ball.
The following films made by France will be screening at the festival:
Lock-Out (2012) – James Mather & Stephen St. Leger (France)
A charming rascal is offered his freedom if he saves the president’s daughter from an outer space prison.
The Incident (2011) – Alexandre Courtes (France/Belgium)
Friends are working together in a psychiatric hospital, but when a storm rises the patients get their say.
Carré Blanc (2011) – Jean-Baptiste Leonetti (France/Belgium)
Philippe plays a game to achieve more power in a world where everything is determined by the caste system. Philippe’s wife however wants him to return to reality.
Rabid Grannies (1988) – Emmanuel Kervyn (Belgium/France/The Netherlands)
When the grannies receive an evil gift from their devil-worshipping nephew, the happy family gathering is about to change..
Calvaire (2004)– Fabrice Du Weltz (Belgium/France/Luxembourg)
A singer’s car breaks down in the woods and it turns out that it’s not that easy to get out.
Taxandria (1994) – Raoul Servais (Belgium/Germany/France)
A young prince travels to the coast to study in solitude, little did he know he wouldn’t be alone at all.
