Applications are open for the 3rd International Film Festival in Balneário Camboriú – CINERAMA.BC 2013.To submitt a film at the 2013 edition it’s necessary to download the regulations and the film submission form on the links located at the right sidebar. Requested material should be sent by January 31, 2013.

The curators seek to show different forms of sensitivity in fiction and documentary films by well-known and new directors for Brazilian Premières.
The Official Selection is competitive and is composed of national and international documentaries and fiction movies. These best movies will be awarded with the Golden Owl by the Official Jury and by the Audience.
The programming of Cinerama.BC includes the following:
- International New Media Festival – New forms of audiovisual production and exibiting.
- Catarina Festival – Short films produced in the state of Santa Catarina or with themes related to Santa Catarina State.
-Little Owl Session – Children’s films held in partnership with the Department of Education.
- CINERAMA.BC Residence – Speeches by the filmmakers of those movies, daily Lectures about the cinema industry and Workshops.
The 3rd Cinerama.BC will happen between May, 1st and 5th of 2013. The main objective is providing an immersion in the audiovisual world, and with this objective we invite filmmakers and professionals of the audiovisual industry.
The event seeks to give maximum visibility to each selected movie, so we work with a concise official selection with, in average, seven feature films and seven short movies. The curators seek to show different forms of sensitivity in fiction and documentary films by well-known as well as new directors.
What happened in the previous editions?
The two previous editions happened in 2011 and 2012. And during that period the CINERAMA.BC Festival transformed Balneário Camboriú in a discussion for audiovisual works, audience formation and a showcase for new professionals.
The movies screened in the Brazilian Premiere were: “My Little Princess” by Eva Ionesco; “Tomboy” by Céline Sciamma; ‘L´Age Atomique’ by Helena Klotz; ‘Anna Pavlova Lives in Berlin’ by Theo Solnik; ‘Otelo Burning’ by Sara Blecher; “Jud Suss: Rise and Fall” by Oskar Roehler; “El Premio” by Paula Markovich; “Le Syndrome Du Titanic”, by Nicolas Hulot and “9 Months 9 Days” by Ozcar Ramírez González, and also the features films by the honored guests of the 2011 edition: Beto Brant and Renato Ciasca´s ““I’d Receive the Worst News From Your Beautiful Lips” and “The Trespasser”; and by the honored guest of the edition 2012: Sérgio Machado´s ‘Where the Earth Ends”.
The following guests took part in the the Official Jury of the 2012 edition: journalist Caroline Cesar, film critic Rodrigo Fonseca, actress Christiane Tricerri, and filmmakers Rodrigo Grota and Sérgio Machado; this jury handed out the Golden Owl for Best Movie, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor. On the Official Jury of shorts: art director Monica Palazzo, scriptwriter Filipe Domiano and director Francisco Garcia, this jury handed the Golden Owl for Best Short Movie. The audience participated electing the Best Film for the Audience according to the vote held in ballots delivered to each session.
Director Beto Brant, producer and director Renato Ciasca, director Sérgio Machado, director Rubens Velosso, producer and director David Schurmann; actor and director Marcos Azevedo, actress Paula Braun and director Patrícia Moran, the honored guest of both editions, were present during the whole Festival and were able to have direct contact with the audience.
