Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival has announced its jurors for International Competition – a diverse and talented group of five women, including award-winning filmmakers, journalists and media pioneers - will select the winners among the ten competitive festival films.
The ‘48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, will be held from 8th to 14th October 2011. This year the festival is organized by the Antalya Culture and Art Foundation (AKSAV) and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, held annually since 1963 is the most important International film festival in Turkey. This year’s main theme is ‘…And the Woman touched the World’ and all the juries including National, Shorts and Documentaries Competitions, are formed of female members.
The Mayor of Antalya City and President of the Board of Directors for the Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation; Prof. Mustafa Akaydın said “We are honoured to announce that the International Jury is all made up of a range of accomplished females in their respective fields, bringing a fresh and well-rounded perspective to the festival.”
The world – renowned Hungarian director Török Ferenc’s ‘ISTANBUL MY DREAM’ will receive its World Premiere during the festival and Török will be attending the Gala of the film.
The International Selection Committee
Marleen Gorris, the Oscar winner for the ‘Best Foreign Language’ with ‘Antonia’s Line’ (1995) is the president of the jury. The other members of the jury are; Iranian director and actress Niki Karimi, Georgian National Film Center director Tamara Tatishvili, Turkish director and producer Biket İlhan and Turkish film critic and academic Aslı Selçuk.
International Films to compete
• Török Ferenc’s ‘ISTANBUL MY DREAM’. (World Premiere)
• Mohammad Rasoulof’s ‘GOODBYE’. The film also competed at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in ‘Un Certain Regard’ section.
• Leila Kilani’s ‘ON THE EDGE’. The film also was screened at San Sebastian and Cannes Film Festival this year.
• Kyu-Hwan Jeon’s ‘DANCE TOWN’
• Stathis Athanasiou’s debut, Greece – Turkey – Spain co-production ‘TWO – DOS’
• Cornel Gheorghita’s first feature film ‘EUROPOLIS’
• Nadav Lapid’s, 64th Locarno Film Festival’s Special Jury Prize winner ‘POLICEMAN’
• Yasemin Şamdereli (Director and Co-writer) Nesrin Yasemin Şamdereli’s(Writer) ‘ALMANYA – WELCOME TO GERMANY’. The film was awarded at 61th German Film Awards, Golden Tulip, for Best Screenplay and the Silver Tulip for Best Film in 2011.
• Bartosz Konopka’s ‘FEAR OF FALLING’. The Polish director was nominated for Oscar for his documentry RABBIT À LA BERLIN in 2010.

The Hungarian director Ferenc Török comes to Antalya
1971 in Budapest born, screenwriter and director Ferenc Török will be attending to the festival with the film’s cast this year. Török represents the leading edge of a new generation of cinema. His first feature film ‘MOSCOW SQUARE’, after the change of regime in Hungary, has become one of the cult films of the cinema and shown in many international festivals.
Ferenc Török also received the Béla Balázs in 2008- the highest award and he has become a well-known director.
