The 2011 Anchorage International Film festival invites filmmakers to submit films of all lengths and genres through Withoutabox by Septembre 15th. AIFF screens over 120 films a year and brings together artists from around the world. The festival fills over 12,000 seats a year in two main venues during the darkest, most brilliantly cool time of the year. Check out "Films worth freezing for..." at www.anchoragefilmfestival.org or friend us on Facebook.
AIFF’s mission is to develop, promote and sustain a film festival that supports new media and independent film making in Alaska and around the world while enriching cultural and entertainment opportunities for Alaskans. Our nonprofit organization continues to play a part in expanding film screening and production opportunities throughout the state.
As North American’s northernmost independent film festival, AIFF now enters its 10th event of bringing movie-goers out of the cold and into the illuminating worlds of filmmakers form around the globe.
By bringing filmmakers from all parts of the country and world to Alaska, we want artists to connect with people they might not otherwise meet, and engage audiences in workshops, screenings, and plenty of celebratory parties.
