– Have you already seen any of the competitive films and what can you say about them?
Thank you for that question. I feel great. I’m very careful not to catch the flu.
– It is not your first participation in the competition programme of the Sofia International Film Festival – you have previously won awards for your short films. What has changed in the Festival since you won the Jameson Short Film Award for Before Life, After Death?
I am very proud that in Bulgaria we have such a worthy and adequate festival which is in no way inferior to similar events in the so called ‘foreign countries’. The programme of the Festival is superb as well as the parties, there is spirit and a good atmosphere. Somehow because of the festival we start loving cinema more and it becomes a part of us.
– What is hidden behind the title Shelter? What should the Bulgarian audiences expect?
I’m not good at advertising myself but let me try. Spectators have to expect a different film, a film which is sad and funny at the same time, also ironical, even dramatic. In addition it is very short – only 88 min. I think that everybody who loves cinema will like it.
