The winner of the Kraków Film Award is South Korean director Park Jung-Bum. The award of 100.000$ was handed by Jerzy Skolimowski.
"I am here for the first time, but maybe it will sound as a threat - not the last time" - he said. Agnieszka Odorowicz, director of PISF, handed in an additional award - 1 million zloties (under the condition that the film will be made in Poland). She congratulated the organisers of the festival and stressed that Kraków holds one of the most important events for young independent filmmakers.
Parku Jung-Bum thanked for the great festival: "I can't believe that I received such an important award. This film is especially important to me, given it was made in memory of my deceased friend."
For the first time at the festival, the Polish Feature Film Award was granted. Marcin Wrona's "The Christening" was the winner. He received 100.000PLN and a ticket with booking granted for Sundanc Film Festival. The surprised director thanked the organisers of the festival and joked: "I can see now that thanks to the ticket and the money I now have the next 6 months organised for me."
FIPRESCI International Film Critics Association also granted their accolade. This went to Jan Komasa for "Suicide Room". The head of the jury Ronald Bergan explained: "This was a tough choice, but in the end we picked the film which was the most ambitious and original."
The Audience Award went to Eliza Kowalewska for feature debut "Heniek".
