DRIVE-ing at Cannes, with Ryan Gosling

user
This was a very endearing press conference, especially in light of Lars Von Trier’s press conference two days prior for MELANCHOLY (2011) that still had everyone’s head spinning in Cannes. Von Trier’s comments on his Nazi sympathies as well as his protested desire to return to Denmark and focus only on soft and hardcore porn had everyone at Cannes thinking twice about Danish cinema and its praiseworthy art-house directors. Nicolas Winding Refn is a former student of Von Trier so naturally,...

user

It's the expectations of buyers and sellers that indicate we're in a worldwide down economy, with many expecting the worst. Not so if you are Adrien Brody, steeped in Oscar potential; and even if your film is WRECKED, som...

The Perfect Man followed by Deep Blue will open the Maui Film festival.June 15-19Deep Blue (83 min). Directed By: Alastair Fothergill,Andy Byatt. Our planet is mostly ocean, yet we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about that liquid space that is home to 80 percent of the Earth's living creatures. At least, we did until now. For more than five years, the creative team behind the acclaimed BBC series The Blue Planet explored the world's oceans, descending as deep as 16,500 feet to...
