About the Director: 

Nassim Abassi is a Moroccan filmmaker. He attended film school at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design (SIAD) in Farnham, UK. He has produced and directed several short films both in the UK and in Morocco which were well received in the British and foreign film festival circuit.
In 2001, he was a member of a jury which included Samira Makhmalbaf and several other award-winning international filmmakers at the Arab Screen Independent Film Festival in Qatar. In 2002, he started a PHD research project at the University of London. His research focused on the specificity of an Arab cinema in the context of Arab aesthetics.

Film synopsis: 
Yussra is young Moroccan woman who works as a fitness trainer in a sports center in Mohammedia. After having many disappointments with men, she finally meets someone new, Tarik, who seems to be really in love with her and wants to marry her. She doesn't know that Tarik has hidden from her his past as a drug trafficker. Soon his past catches up with him and Yussra's life is completely shattered

Nassim attended film school at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design (SIAD) in Farnham, UK. He has produced and directed several short films both in the UK and in Morocco which were well received in the British and foreign film festival circuit. He is currently at work on the marketing of his new Moroccan feature film MAJID that he produced and directed. The film is set for a nationwide Moroccan release in 2011. It's the coming of age story of Majid, a 10 years old orphan boy. MAJID has been selected for the Dubai International film festival 2010
