La 87e cérémonie des Oscars a dévoilé son palmarès, offrant à Birdman un trône mérité avec quatre récompenses, dont meilleur film et meilleur réalisateur pour Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Whiplash a créé la surprise avec trois statuettes. La plus grosse surprise étant l'absence de Timbuktu auquel les votants ont préféré Ida (Pologne, noir et blanc)
