Le prix cinématographique européen du public (Prix LUX du public) a été créé en 2021 et est décerné par le Parlement européen et la European Film Academy, en partenariat avec la Commission européenne et Europa Cinemas. Ce prix est né de la combinaison du prix LUX, créé en 2007 et décerné par le Parlement européen pour témoigner de son engagement en faveur de la culture, et du prix du public de la European Film Academy ("People’s Choice Award" ).
Les trois films nominés sont : · FLEE, de Jonas Poher Rasmussen · GREAT FREEDOM, de Sebastian Meise · La Voix d’Aïda (Quo Vadis, Aida?), de Jasmila Žbanić
