Born in Naples, after a degree in Economics Stella Leonetti moves to Milan to pursue her career as journalist and photographer.
In the early Eighties, she is Assistant to Lucia Poli who produces her first two theater plays (Writer and Director) with Lella Costa making her début.
Together with Lella Costa and Flavio Ambrosini, she re-opens and manages the Teatro Piccola Commenda in Milan, where she writes and directs another six plays gone on national tour (Eduardo de’ Filippo Theater Prize winner).
She teaches Creative Writing (Piccolo Teatro in Milan and Istituto Europeo di Design), she writes the radio-drama “Emma Lyon, British Adventuress”, broadcast by RAI and the novel “The Extras of the Gospel” edited by Ican.
In the Nineties, she is Founder and Director of the Capalbio Cinema International Short Film Festival (www.capalbiocinema.com), this year at its 17th edition. She moves to Los Angeles where she studies movie production.
In 2002, she produces, writes and directs “Vernissage: 1607 Caravaggio” (18 min.) multiple award winner in Italy and abroad (Golden Globe and Silver Ribbon).

Stella Leonetti, napoletana, laurea in Economia e Commercio, giornalista pubblicista e fotografa, si trasferisce e lavora a Milano.
Lavora come assistente di Lucia Poli che produce i suoi due primi spettacoli, di cui è autrice e regista, con interprete la debuttante Lella Costa.
Poi con Lella Costa e con Flavio Ambrosini riapre e dirige il Teatro Piccola Commenda di Milano, per cui scrive e dirige altri sei spettacoli andati in tournée (Premio Eduardo de’ Filippo per il teatro).
Ha insegnato scrittura creativa (Piccolo Teatro di Milano e Istituto Europeo di Design) ed è autrice di una commedia radiofonica “Emma Lyon, avventuriera inglese”, trasmessa dalla RAI. Scrive il romanzo storico “Le comparse del vangelo” edito da Ican.
Negli anni Novanta, fonda e dirige il Festival Internazionale di cortometraggi Capalbio Cinema, attivo da 17 anni. Poi studia sceneggiatura, regia e produzione cinematografica a Los Angeles.
Nel 2002, scrive e dirige il film “Vernissage: 1607 Caravaggio” (18 min.) vincitore di numerosi premi in Italia e all’Estero, tra cui Globo d’Oro e Nastro d’Argento.
