more festival screenings and an early xmas wish

"section 44"  will play at St Louis, Calcorous, Guerilla film fest, Coolidge, Tehran, Sardinia, Bet on shorts and the conceptualy brilliant couch fest.

It's a bit early for xmas wishes  but this year I want a producer for xmas.

section 44 gets a youtube remake???

A bunch of kids have remade  the film and posted it on you tube! Maybe I should be pissed over issues of intellectual copyright theft but I have to admit I am a little bit flattered by thier efforts (and relieved that they didn't make a better film than I did). It never occured to me that a short film would be the basis of  a you tube parody video

Section 44 is playing at just for laughs and Traversere city film festival this month.

a couple of amusing anecdotes from the world of short filmmaking

Recently

Section 44 crashed out of competition at Le Touquet when the projector decided to  eat my print! We had to change cinemas to be able continue with the screening but the subtitling machine couldn't be moved so the all French jury saw it only in English. Have to say it was a great festival and Touqet is a lovely place.

I made a short last week for the virgin media shorts competition (it has a funding prize) but my film didn't upload properly, so it looks like it's not entered into the competition. Fortunatly it only cost £86 to make. Perhaps they will let it participate. It is actually very funny. "The Auditon" stars the excellent Philip Philmar and the very talented Cameron Leigh

Section 44 makes Micheal Moore laugh!

Section 44 has been selected for  the Traverse City Film festival and will also be in competition at Just for Laughs Comedy Festival

section 44 wins 2nd place at Emden Film Festival

What I like about this festival is that all the awards are voted for by the audience. It also helps that it is set in a beautiful town AND the amazing island of Norderney which is like a German version of the Truman show except that the bars are full at 10am with people drinking beer- I approve! Whether your film is long, short, doco or narrative send it to Emden. Who knew Germans could be so much fun and could party till 6am?! A great great film festival with an amazing aptmosphere-every screening was packed out

section 44 in competition @ 6 fesitvals in the 6th month

June is a busy month for section 44.... if only I could travel as much as the film!

Festival Le Touqet

Emden Film festival

World Shorts Film Festival

11//22 Int Comedy Festival

Waterfront Film Festival

section 44 @ cannes short film corner

The film is available to watch at the cannes short film corner.

It will also be screening at Le Touquet, Emden Film Festival, WSFF and 11/22 International Comedy Film Festival over the next 6 weeks

section 44 on tribeca you tube screening room

section 44 was one of four short films selected to be shown on the tribeca you tube screening room and is available to watch until May 3rd.So far it has been watched over 80,000 times

I just got back from the festival and have to say it was amazing. I would recommend it to any film maker or film fan.

Section 44 at Tribeca

Section 44 has been selected by the Tribeca Film Festival to be one of four short films to be shown on youtube for the duration of the festival and I have been asked to be a mentor to the Tribeca Fellows- it is my hope I can convince them to do something apart from filmmaking!

website's and interviews

Finally got around to making a web site.....www.hottailfilms.co.uk

and I'm featured in a tribeca round table interview http://www.tribecafilm.com/festival/featuresProgrammer_Roundtable_Funny_...
