About the Director: 

Daniel Burkholz is an award winning filmmaker, producer and lawyer. He worked as editor of a scientific magazine. Later, he worked as leading officer in the fields of environment protection and education. After an intermezzo as divemaster, he studied the nomad's culture of the Sinai, the Great Thar desert, and the Aborigine's culture in Queensland. In 2005, Daniel Burkholz founded his first film company Roadside Dokumentarfilm. The United Nations and NGOs in many countries use Roadside films for their work. More over, the films have been officially selected for more than 100 film festivals, film weeks and film series around the globe.

<p>A story about men and women who experienced the Second World War as soldiers of the Wehrmacht or as civilians in Nazi-Germany. Traumatised by the terror of war they became convinced pacifists. During the 50ties, they put up resistance against the building of a new army in West-Germany.
