Palm SpringsCelebrating 31 years, the Palm Springs International Film Festival plays host to a fabulous array of movies and movie stars. The Festival features a stellar line-up of more than 175 films from 60 countries, special events and gala receptions. The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films has become known world-wide for the extraordinary community of filmmakers it attracts, and for the quality and scope of its programming. This celebrated event is the largest festival of its kind in America, showcasing over 320 short films each year from more than 40 countries, with a library of more than 2700 films available to film buyers, industry and press in the Film Market running concurrently with the Festival. Next festival will run January 8th-18th, 2021![]() Palm Springs International Short Film Festival & MarketThe Palm Springs International ShortFest—now in its 24th year—is one of the largest showcases of short films in North America. The seven-day competitive festival is Academy Award, BAFTA and Goya-qualifying and screens approximately 330 short films from 60 countries in a series of 90-minute programs. The Festival has 17 competitive categories with prize money and services valued at over $70,000. First-place winners in the Non-student Animation, Non-student Documentary and Non-student Live-Action categories, as well as the Best of the Fest Award winner will automatically become eligible for nomination consideration by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the short film categories.
