The 14th Los Angeles Urban Latino Film Festival Shorts Program Hits Home Runs

I Was so impressed with That program That I did not want it to end . Having attended many shorts programs at Film Festivals in the last 2 weeks this one knocked me into a world of reality . Each story you just Involved from the first frame . First out of the box WAS Beleu Jardin ( Garden Heaven ) directed by Ari Candido Fernandez pulled each in the gritty world of Sao Paulo and Itmar ( Flavio Bauraqui ) who is robbed of His paycheck on a bus on the bus ride home and His Turmoil and Thoughts of revenge Regarding this. Next up to bat from Costa Rica is director Erika Bagnarello 's film El Hijo de la (The Hooker 's Son ) revolves around Mauricio ( Abelard Vladic ) a lawyer who winds up babysitting a hooker 's son after a liaison with her and how His it affects normal work routine. "

" Cookie " directed by Francisco Ordonez tries is based on a story about three guys looking for a street hooker and the results are to Murdered hooker . I missed this film at Holy Shorts WAS Glad To Have and caught it here . En Tus Manos (In Your Hands) is a real story shot in the slums of Columbia by American director Jon Jacobs. Oscar Torres Was The writer of this very touching tale of a young man , actor Santiago Diaz and His girlfriend actress Paulina Gaitan and the choices he must make Regarding street gangs , His true feelings and what is right in order to survive That decision- making . Hanley Valentin Director Makes " A Positive Buy "  in the inner workings of the world of crack cocaine to  Which supposedly crack addict That Explores world with a surprise ending. At the end of the list is " Rooftop Tales " directed by Miguel Silveira  Which Reminds me of my youth and street fights between youth from neighboring streets.

Wonderfully shot and Acted by the whole cast and in particular  7- year old boy Whose father WAS Killed in Iraq and His memory lives on .
