FESTIVALEXPRESS: Helping Film Festivals Connect With The Industry

FESTIVALEXPRESS is the new, free submission tool for festival organizers worldwide to connect with filmmakers and the film industry.

For twelve years, we have been working with leading and emerging film festivals around the world to help them promote their events and to attract filmmaker and industry interest. Drawing from the millions of film industry professionals (filmmakers, distributors, sales agents, programmers, critics) who regularly log on to filmfestivals.com  you can get unprecedented access to a worldwide audience as you announce your Call for Entries and coordinate your film submissions procedures.

FESTIVALEXPRESS can assist film festivals to attract more international film submissions by following a very simple set of guidelines:

--Register your Film Festival in our database

--If you are already registered, uppdate the information in your festival record, including your dates for this year or next year, your program sections, awards or cash prizes and links to your own websites

--To give filmmakers, distributors and sales agents the information that they will need in order to submit films, follow these easy procedures:

  • Under the top field "Festival Sections", define your sections seperated by commas
  • Indicate if your submission process is free or fee-based by choosing "yes" or "no" in the "Film Submission Fee" section
  • If you do charge a submission fee, put in the amounts in the "Film Submission Amount" field
  • After you have updated your information, simply select Yes for the field "Submission accepted on Fest21.com".  See examples below.

You are ready to receive submissions.

MANAGING FILM SUBMISSIONS:

  • To manage the submissions, use your festival back-office
  • To do so, first click on "My Blog" on the left column.
  • Then select your festival record
  • Check the tab "Films submissions status" of your festival information.

UNDERSTANDING THE SUBMITTED FILMS INFORMATION:

  • Submitted films start with the status Submitted. It is up to you to then "Accept" them by simply changing the film status.
  • Once paid (or if the festival submission is free) change the status to "Payed". The filmmaker will be advised of the changes.
  • You will receive an email for each submitted film.
  • Once you have made your Festival selections, you can change the status of selected films to "Selected".
  • You can add awards status to your award winners.

NEW TOOLS AND PROMOTION

We are constantly developing new tools to help both film festivals and the film industry efficiently manage the submissions process. We will inform you in the coming months about several new services that will be offered, including online payment of submission fees, a complete printed film form, submitted films extracts for festival catalogue data and other services.

Also remember that we provide you with an international audience to not only attract film submissions but to promote the films, personalities, special events and award winners that you will showcase at your event. With a wide international audience of filmmakers, industry professionals, festival programmers, film critics and film buffs, with original editorial content, exclusive photos and videos.
