Bruno Chatelin runs for President of UniFrance

Antoine de Clermont Tonnerre two year mandate as President of uniFrance run by Regine Hatchondo (General Manager) will be open for renewal next Friday, January 28th .

 

Antoine de Clermont Tonnerre declared only recently that he would apply for a second mandate from his board.


 

UniFrance is the organization dedicated to promoting French cinema worldwide.

 

It was founded in 1949 as an association under the French 1901 Act, and operates under the supervision of the CNC - Centre National de la Cinématographie.

UniFrance currently has around 800 members, including feature film and short film producers, sales agents, directors, actors, authors (screenwriters), and talent agents. It is run by Regine Hatchondo (General Manager) whose previous mission was, among others, to promote Paris: (La mission cinéma Paris Film ) http://www.parisfilm.fr/uk/) She launched and firmly established Paris Cinema in 2003 Paris Cinema International Film Festival is targeted as an annual democratic and off-beat event and runs since 2003.

Antoine de Clermont Tonnerre confirmed only recently that he would apply for a second mandate.

He began his career as journalist, entered the ministry of culture as a counceler for film, was elected President of SFP, Les Editions Mondiales, became a distributor(Ariane) and a producer MACT Productions in 1992.

 

3 other candidates declared the same ambition.  Carole Scotta (Haut et Court producer and distributor of la vie en rose...) and Philippe Maynial a former sales representative for Gaumont producer and founder of the successful screenplay contest in Paris "Le grand prix du scenario" turning 25 this year.

"I decided to join them with the same enthusiasm in the belief that promotion is a matter for promotion experts."

 

Bruno Chatelin graduated from HEC in 1977, he was in charge of the launch of over 250 films during his tenure as Marketing Director and Managing Director for Sony pictures and UGC/FOX joint venture in France which he has built for the two partners. It became in year two N° 3 in the market.

 

 

Prior to this he was account director with Advertising Agencies: Publicis Intermarco, DMM Masius and JWT.

The past ten years he has been a pioneer in the digital economy launching filmfestivals.com & fest21.com (blog platform for the festival community) promoting film and festivals.

 

The company he manages with Malo Grod de l'Ain runs the leading festivals portal and fest directory (listing over 4000 film events worldwide) and offers new FestivalExpress submission tools and a social network / blog platform to the festival industry.

Filmfestivals.com has been a recurrent partner to Cannes Market, MIFED, Venice and Karlovy Vary Industry Office, the Short Film Corner in Cannes, SATIS and a variety of other festivals

He runs a marketing consultancy for film and entertainment, and is currently representing and advising on three international feature films.

He has already experienced the pride and joy of working for the French cause, when in charge of France98 world cup. He designed the slogan "France 98 à nous de Jouer" and took it to media, partners, and various ministries with the aim of enthuse people and get them down in the street to welcome the word and support their team. He raised 75 MF from media who were ready to contribute with free advertising space.

Of course Zidane did most of the work. (3/0 against Brazil : goooooaaaaaaaaal)

 

His film promotion credits include a large number of short films pushed to the festival circuit and about 200 feature films (cumulating over 200M admissions)

He has worked in a wide variety of films: from first film French or American movies like En avoir ou pas, Boy'zn the Hood, Brothers McMullan... to Block Busters like Independence day, T2...

He took pride in working with the elite of the international filmmakers and producers Puttnam, Mike Medavoy, John Dolgen, Mark Canton, Mario Casar and the likes of Woody Allen (Alice, Shadows and Fog, Manhattan Murder Mystery), Scorcese, Terry Gilliam (Munchausen, Fisher King 12 monkeys), Costa Gavras (Music Box), James Ivory (2 films), Stephen Frears, Spielberg (Hook), Jonathan Demme (Silence of the lambs, Philadelphia), Lelouch (Hommes, femmes mode d'emploi) Coppola (Dracula) Alan Parker and many more.
