The upcoming 8th edition of the  Bollywood and Beyond’ film festival   in Germany has announced a call for entries.  The festival features movies, documentaries, children's and animated films of any length and format. The only Indian film festival in Germany will run July 20th-24th, 2011 in Mumbai's sister city, Stuttgart. There will be jury and audience choice awards for best feature, documentary and short film. The First Online  International Short Film Festival of its kind, Webmiere 2011 will be held from August 21st and Entries are now open for all the independent film makers from around the world. On 31 October 1984, Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards.

 

On 01 November 1984, riots erupted in Delhi. The mob swarmed into Sikh neighborhoods, killing any Sikh men, women & children they could find. The riots went on for next three days.

 

According to official figures, around 3000 Sikhs were killed and many more were rendered homeless.

 

JAGJEET is a film set in 1984 and looks at the guilt of a one man who left his childhood friend to die during the riots. The film captures three days of their lives. The first day is set in past where two best friends are in best of times. The second day is when riots took place in Delhi. The third and present day is set a week after riots.

Young Imran in search of a job meets Wali Sheikh and gets impressed by his lifestyle. Little did he know that Wali Sheikh is working as sleeping cell for terrorist organization.
