A Power and the Glory of Cinema City

Another big name of Cinema City Novi Sad, Serbia is no doubt Nick Powell. A man on Virgin label and a big boss of nowadays biggest Film and Television School in UK. I promised that I will write another article about a Nik Powell’s visit to Novi Sad, Cinema City because as I said in previous articles I’ve had a little problem with a voice recorder who failed to record interviews with Powell. Like many teenagers, Peter (Andrew Garfield) Parker, a solitary high schooler and the alter ego of SpiderMan, does not keep his word. He...

The 11th New York Asian Film Festival launches this week

user
The New York Asian Film Festival (June 29 - July 15) returns !   The opening night film is Pang Ho-cheung’s astonishingly filthy, extremely hilarious VULGARIA, a movie about making movies, shot in just 12 days, all about gangsters named Brother Tyrannosaur, sleazy lawyers, the sex film industry, and men who love donkeys a little too much. The Hollywood Reporter calls it a “...laugh-out-loud, aptly titled comedy.” Pang himself, Hong Kong's hottest young director, will be a gues...

Hugh Hudson: Sport is a form of pure art

user
Sport is a form of pure art, an individualistic form of art. Even collective sports like football are art in themselves. Yes, sport is definitely an art – water jumps are so beautiful, archery as well. There is something else as well – collective sports like football, volleyball, basketball create a feeling of togetherness, commitment, family. Individual sports such as running, on the other hand, inspire you to challenge yourself every day. The goal off course is not to w...

Sorkin Presents NEWSROOM at Los Angeles Film Festival

user
Halfway through the first scene (he writes long scenes) of Sorkin's NEWSROOM I thought, "This show could change the world." I am a Sorkin fan, and an idealist, but that's besides the point. In the same way that THE WEST WING made Americans feel apart of what was happening in Washington, NEWSROOM does too. It takes place in a newsroom in Washington, and not only that but it's set during the real events of the day beginning on April 20, 2010. I feel like this kind of pseudo-inside look...
