The International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (ICFT) UNESCO based in Paris, honored Jasmina Bojic, the Founder and Executive Director of UNAFF (United Nations Association Film Festival), a longtime Stanford educator and film critic to join ICFT.

The International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (ICFT) promotes the production and distribution of high standard audiovisual work and advises international organizations and states on the implementation of artistic, educational and industrial policies. It creates an arena where different professionals in audiovisual fields, including young people, can present their views and suggestions to an international audience. It encourages the training and research in all audiovisual areas, including media education, and offers a space for reflection on the development of technologies in the service of creativity, education and culture. The ICFT contributes insights focused on communications, digital media and the free flow of information. It creates a synergy among creators, professionals and media executives by fostering collaboration within its membership, particularly in the service of the broad orientations of UNESCO.

In 2014 at the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) headquarters in Paris the International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (ICFT) presented the UNESCO Fellini Medal to Ms. Bojic, for her exceptional and enduring contribution to promoting the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through the art of documentary film.

The Federico Fellini Medal was created by UNESCO in 1994 to recognize major contributions to the international film heritage, its promotion and preservation. The first Fellini Medal was awarded to the President of the Cannes Film Festival, Pierre Viot and over the years it had many distinctive recipients, among them Gerard Depardieu, Vanessa Redgrave, Clint Eastwood, Abbas Kiarostami, Im Kwon-taek, Lester James Peries, Pierre Rissient and Jerome Clement, the President of the Franco-German TV channel ARTE.

Presenting the award, Ambassador Ousseini, President of ICFT stated that “Over the years UNAFF has become a highly regarded platform for intrepid documentaries with a stellar reputation with filmmakers and audiences alike. Through the "Camera as Witness" program, which Ms. Bojic created at Stanford University, UNAFF and its films have become an invaluable tool in the education process as well.”
